The dynamic

The Builder loves what can be touched: this house, this street, this family, kept. The Finisher loves what can barely be held: everyone, everywhere, the whole unfinished story of people. The attraction runs exactly along that difference — the 9 finds in the 4 the ground its compassion always lacked, proof that care can be nailed down; the 4 finds in the 9 a horizon, the sense that all this careful building serves something larger than the fence line. The engine of the bond is vision plus execution. Its built-in test is scale. Under stress the 4's world sounds small to the 9, and the 9's sounds vague to the 4 — one guards the household while the other gives the household away. This pair works when it picks shared causes: real enough for the 4 to build, wide enough for the 9 to believe in.

• The work — one shared horizon, jointly chosen: a cause or build that belongs to both, with the 4's boundaries honoured inside it and the 9's breadth given real room — care, nailed down and pointed outward
