The dynamic

No pairing states the oldest argument in love more plainly: roots or wings. The Builder builds — slowly, faithfully, for keeps; the Traveller moves — hungrily, brilliantly, for the horizon. And precisely because each has organised a whole life around what the other lacks, the attraction can be seismic: the 5 feels, near the 4, the deep calm of ground that holds; the 4 feels, near the 5, the wind that proves the world is wider than the plan. The engine of the bond is that exchange — ground for wind, wind for ground. Its built-in test is just as exact: under stress the 4 grips and the 5 bolts, the grip tightening the bolt and the bolt tightening the grip. This pair survives by one hard-won art: a structure with a door in it — locked by neither, used by both.

• Strengths — completion at the deepest level: the 4 gives the 5's adventures a base worth returning to, the 5 gives the 4's foundations a reason beyond themselves — each is the other's missing weather
• Frictions — the grip-and-bolt spiral: the 4's security reads as a cage, the 5's freedom reads as flight risk, and every argument is secretly the same argument — will you stay, will you let me breathe
• In everyday life & money — savings versus experiences, the maintained house versus the spontaneous flight: without an agreed split, every purchase indicts the other's entire philosophy of living
• The work — building the door into the wall: commitments the 5 chooses freely and keeps visibly, room the 4 leaves open without grudging it — so staying never feels like capture, and freedom never feels like leaving
